Improve your WordPress media library with virtual folders, filters, and upload. This is the free version. Files stay in uploads.

== Description ==

WP Media Plus Free replaces the default Media Library screen with a focused library: virtual folders, filters, upload, and the same folders inside the native media modal.

**What this plugin does:**

* Virtual folders (files stay in `uploads`)
* Grid and list library with mime and size filters
* Upload and bulk assign / delete
* Native media modal picker with folders and search

Additional tools are available in a separate plugin from the author at https://wpmediaplus.com/.

This plugin does not connect to external services. It does not phone home, and it does not require an account or a license key.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the `wp-media-plus` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`
2. Activate the plugin through the **Plugins** menu
3. Open **Media → WP Media Plus**
4. Complete the setup wizard (languages, appearance)
5. Use **Settings → Maintenance → Index library** if you already have attachments

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

No. Folders are virtual. Delete asks for confirmation. Uninstall can keep or delete plugin data. WordPress attachments and files in `uploads` are left intact.

= Does it work without an AI provider? =

Yes. This package does not call AI providers.
